I was born in 1953 and spent my first 19 years in Gamlingay. I now live in Suffolk.
I started working as a studio
junior in an advertising agency in Newcastle upon Tyne in 1974 and for the last 30 years have worked as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and writer.
As well as a lifelong interest in history, I have a passion for aviation and gained my Private Pilot's Licence in 1985. Sadly, though, I can no longer afford to fly.
Gamlingay was published by Cassell in 1989 as a hardback book.
Gamgy Talk was born out of a fascination with the local accent. It's a humorous booklet, privately printed in 1998.
Villagers: 750 Years of Life in an English Village is a new book incorporating my reasearch during the 22 years since the publication of Gamlingay.

I had shares consecutively
in Piper PA-28 Cherokee
G-BAFW (top) and Piper
PA-28 Arrow II G-BCGS (middle).
Two decades later I'm left with fond memories of many happy hours flying them.
My eldest son Joe has a share in de Havilland Chipmunk G-BBND/WD286 (bottom) based at Old Warden airfield in Bedfordshire.
